Roulette
One of the most popular casino games in Europe, Roulette is the universal symbol for casinos, in my opinion. Roulette’s pace is dignified and exotic yet the rules are simple and easy to follow.
Roulette falls in the same category as the lottery, bingo, or keno, in my opinion, however roulette is a much more sophisticated game to play. This is mainly in part due to Roulette’s pace, the variety of betting options available, and the manner in which the bets are placed in Roulette.
The Object of Roulette
The main object of roulette is to correctly guess the number that a small marble ball will land on when the roulette wheel slows down. The roulette wheel is divided into 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, 0, and 00. The 0 (zero) and 00 (double zero) pockets are colored green and of the remaining 36 pockets, 18 are red and 18 are black.
The dealer, or croupier as he is called in Roulette, spins the wheel and releases the small, white ball in the opposite direction of spinning wheel. As the roulette ball slows down, it falls into the bowl of the wheel and skips over the buffers that seperate each numbered pocket. Eventually, the ball comes to a rest in one of the pockets, determining which number and color have won.
